Dremel Part# 404. Relatively soft nylon bristles in a cup-shaped brush roughly 13mm diameter. Too soft to have much effect on the coin. No doubt it did abrade the surface, but it was too gentle for this experiment. The bristles are square-cut on the end, but gently rounded off. They feel marginally softer than 405's bristles, which sports aggressively pointed bristle tips. After a few minutes with this brush, I abandoned it for much heavier artillery.

If one is really committed to cleaning coins, then this brush would be the
most appropriate (read: "least damaging").(Actually, I used to have a hairstyle just like that.) |
